Minimum Education Requirement:
Basic Entry Requirements for All Grade Levels:
A. Degree:
that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following:
physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. NOTE:
As indicated in A above credit toward meeting statistical course requirements will be granted for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing. Additionally, to receive credit for course work that is not catalogued on the transcript as Statistics or contain 'statistics' in the course title, applicants must attach an official course description for the course that clarifies that the course has statistical content, or written documentation (documentation must be on official school letterhead) from a professor or a school official verifying that the content of a course has either met the 50% statistics course requirements or was a statistical course if the course name in your transcript is not entitled as statistics. If you do not submit sufficient academic documentation necessary to demonstrate that you meet the eligibility and minimum qualification requirements described in this announcement, your application will be deemed incomplete and you will be ineligible for further consideration for this vacancy. OR B. Combination of education and experience - courses shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, b) collection, computing and analyzing data, and c) applying statistical techniques such as measurements of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. GRADE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
For Grade 07, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the Grade 05 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes applying statistical techniques, methodology, and methods. Experience with meeting deadlines. Experience with evaluating critical factors and technical writing such as, reports of findings and methods. Experience compiling data for technical reports analyzing and interpreting survey results. OR You have one full year of progressively higher-level graduate education. OR You have superior academic achievement, which is defined as one (or more) of the following:
Membership in a national honor society; graduating in the upper 1/3 of the class; earning an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.95 (on a 4.0 scale) in the final 2 undergraduate years completed; earning a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.95; earning an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.45 in the major field of study during the final 2 undergraduate years completed; or earning a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.45 in the major field of study. For Grade 09, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the Grade 07 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes applying statistical techniques, methodology, and methods. Experience with meeting deadlines. Experience with evaluating critical factors and technical writing such as, reports of findings and methods. Experience communicating with management and other staff to relate progress of data collection operations and resolve issues and propose recommendations. Experience with interpreting, adapting and applying organizational regulations, policies, precedents, and practices. Experience compiling data for technical reports analyzing and interpreting survey results. OR You have completed two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or you have a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. For Grade 11, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the Grade 09 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes applying statistical techniques, methodology, and methods. Experience with meeting deadlines. Experience with evaluating critical factors and technical writing such as, reports of findings and methods. Experience communicating with management and other staff to relate progress of data collection operations and resolve issues and propose recommendations. Experience with interpreting, adapting and applying organizational regulations, policies, precedents, and practices. Experience compiling data for technical reports analyzing and interpreting survey results. OR You have 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree or you have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree. For Grade 12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the Grade 11 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes applying statistical techniques, methodology, and methods. Experience with meeting deadlines. Experience with evaluating critical factors and technical writing such as, reports of findings and methods. Experience communicating with management and other staff to relate progress of data collection operations and resolve issues and propose recommendations. Experience with interpreting, adapting and applying organizational regulations, policies, precedents, and practices. Experience compiling data for technical reports analyzing and interpreting survey results. Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
