Minimum Education Requirement:
A. Degree:
You must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree. Studies must have included at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, 12 of which must be in mathematics and 6 of which must be in statistics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. AND Specialized
Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes:
applying mathematical methods and techniques to statistical processes, programs or studies; conducting research, developing plans, or implementing assigned projects requiring the application of mathematical statistical theory; analyzing and evaluating the accuracy and validity of data; and/or developing and applying measures/models to resolve problems. Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
