Senior Systems Administrator
Position Description:
The Systems Administrator (SA) provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex IT systems, including managing IT system infrastructure and processes. The SA provides support to IT systems including: day-to-day operations, monitoring, maintenance, and problem resolution. The SA is responsible for documentation, reports, and maintaining all system documentation jobs, schedules, status, and files. The SA serves as a technical liaison between customers, coworkers (Government and contractor employees), and system vendors. The SA proactively researches and recommends upgrades or enhancements for IT infrastructure and ensures security procedures and processes are followed. The SA shall be available to respond to after-hours trouble calls and perform system disaster recovery/COOP procedures.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
BS or higher in Computer Science or related field of study from an accredited university.
In lieu of a BS degree, at least 7 years experience in IT system administration and IT asset management.
CompTIA Security+ CE or IAT Level II or higher
Knowledge and Experience
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT and Systems Administration experience.
Demonstrated deep system administration experience of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Knowledge and understanding of DOD security requirements and demonstrated experience with STIG compliance and remediation.
Demonstrated system administration experience of Oracle Solaris.
Experience configuring and maintaining server hardware; configuring and maintaining Network Appliance (NetApp) storage appliances; configuring and maintaining VMware and virtualized environment; scripting languages; installing and maintaining authentication and authorization; installing and maintaining databases; and installing and maintaining application and web servers.
Knowledge of containerization a plus.
Knowledge of Agile software development practices and release management a plus.
Ability to learn fast, adapt to new technology, and keep current with industry certifications.
Knowledge of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with executive, technical staff, and non-technical staff.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
