Scientist III (Pending contract award)

STC is actively seeking motivated and talented individuals to support research, development and operations at the National Weather Service in College Park, MD. The Support Scientist III will perform scientific research to develop remote sensing algorithms for numerical modeling and weather prediction systems and development of existing products and applications for environmental parameter measurement. Required Skills: The Support Scientist III shall have at least four (4) years of experience in research related to science or engineering problems, or experience in either or both atmospheric and oceanographic research. Education: Master's of Science in Atmospheric Science, Oceanography, Other Physical Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Astronomy, or Mathematics. NOTE: a PhD in one of the above disciplines shall be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
